How we review health products

Every product review on this site follows the same steps and the same scoring rubric. Here is exactly what we check, and what we refuse to do.

What we read before we write

We start with the seller's own material, because it is the one source the seller cannot disown. For each product we read:

  1. The official sales page, including any sales video, which we read from its captions so we can quote it accurately.
  2. The terms of sale and the refund policy, which often say more than the sales page, for example about testimonials or return conditions.
  3. The checkout page, to confirm who processes the payment, the real price, and the refund window the processor states.
  4. The label or ingredient list, when the seller publishes one, including doses where they are disclosed.

Then we look up what is known about the main ingredients or methods in published research and in reference sources such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and MedlinePlus. We cite those sources at the end of the page. If the evidence is small, mixed or about a different dose, we say so.

How we score

Some reviews carry a score out of 5. It is our editorial score, not a customer rating, and we never show it as a star rating from buyers. We rate five things from 1 to 5 and use the average:

  1. Transparency. Are the ingredients, doses, price and refund terms easy to find and consistent across the seller's pages?
  2. Evidence. How well does published research support what the main ingredients or methods are said to do, at the doses used?
  3. Claims. How closely does the marketing stick to that evidence, and how much does it lean on urgency, miracle language or testimonials we cannot check?
  4. Safety information. Does the seller explain side effects, interactions and who should not use the product?
  5. Value and refund terms. What does it cost per day or per use, and how clear and fair is the refund process?

A high score means a product is honestly sold and reasonably supported, not that it will work for you. Best-of lists rank only products we have reviewed in full, by this score.

What we never publish

  • Customer ratings, review counts or star averages that are not our own data.
  • Testimonials presented as real when we cannot verify them. When a seller's terms say its testimonials may be acted out or come from people connected to the company, we tell you.
  • Invented experts, bylines or credentials. Our product pages are written by the Strong Health Tips editorial team.
  • Promises of cures or results, or any claim that a supplement is "FDA approved". Supplements are not reviewed by the FDA for effectiveness before sale.
  • Backdated pages. The published date is the day a page went live; when we change something material, we add an updated date.

Affiliate links

We earn a commission on some purchases made through links on product pages, at no extra cost to you. Those links always point to the seller's official checkout, never to marketplace listings, and every page that has them says so. Commissions do not change a score, and low scores get published like any other. More in our disclaimer.

Corrections

Prices, bonuses and refund terms change. If you spot something out of date or wrong, tell us through the contact page or at [email protected] and we will check it against the seller's current pages and update the review.
